Nutritional status of patients was normal in 45.8% of cases; however, chronic malnutrition was seen in 25% of patients. 20.8% of patients had an associated disease such as congenital cardiopathy, chronic renal disease and vascular brain malformations. Hospital stay was greater than 7 days in 83.3% of patients. In most cases, pediatric patients were subjected to invasive procedures (95.8%). The results allowed us to obtain real information of the risk factors that affect the development of sepsis in the pediatric age.
